Albany High School’s girls volleyball team beat Holy Names and St. Joseph Notre Dame this week, bringing its BSAL record to 6-0.
The Cougars knew St. Joe’s would be stiff competition because the Pilots held the same league record as the Cougars. Yet, Albany took Thursday’s match in three games. The first was 25-9, a relatively easy win. But, in the second, St. Joe’s stepped up their game giving the Cougars a fight, resulting in a final score of 25-22. St. Joe’s could not recover from the second game loss and the Cougars took the third, 25-10.
Albany won Tuesday’s match against the Holy Names Monarchs, 3-0.
The Cougars have two games this coming week, October 4 at Encinal and October 6 against rival St. Mary’s at home.
