Albany’s centennial – its 100 year anniversary – is coming up in 2008. And according to the City Council, it’s high time that we changed our town motto. Town motto? You might say, we’re actually worthy of one of those? Yes my friend, you heard right. Our motto and claim to fame is “The Northern Gateway to Alameda County.”
If this does not strike town pride in your very heart, do not fear, the citizens of Albany have took it upon themselves to send in a few suggestions such as “Community by the bay” and “Planet Earth’s best square mile,” in hopes of winning various certificates. Think you could do better? Send your suggestions to: info@albanyhighcougar.com by November 15 and you could win a prize!
