No matter the atmosphere, no matter the place, oldies never get old.
The lively beat and the familiar, soulful lyrics never cease to win over your heart and make you snap your fingers. Sure, you may claim that you hate oldies, but you know that you love to belt out the oh-so-familiar lyrics with the vocalists when the music is turned up. One way or another, oldies are tight and you know that deep down inside, you enjoy them.
This is why our school’s marvelous R&B band, Rhythm Bound, will be performing oldies during the Spring Dance on Friday, March 23rd. They will be singing songs such as “My Girl” and “Grapevine.” And you can count on the fact that Rhythm Bound is going to get you to really start feelin’ the groove. Rhythm Bound will be playing for the first hour of the dance until they turn over the stage to the DJ. The DJ, of course, will have regular music that you can really get down to.
This dance combines of the best of both worlds. So don’t miss out. You know the drill: buy the ticket at the bookroom for $5 and turn up at 8:00. It is going to be fun.

yea rhythym bound!
diana, real people like rhythm bound music too not this new age crap that the only getting down to involves slobbering over the person in front of you. rewrite the article because theyre both good!
hiphop is the ONly thing you can get down to
oldies dont do like hiphop. yuppppyupppp
whatever. you dont know real music until you hear it…and if you ONLY listen to hip hop..you havn’t heard it.
dianaaaaaa where were u at the dance?
it was okay… i enjoyed the music however not even 50% of the ppl that went there were dancing to rhythm bound… i thought it was a good idea however i dunno if it should’ve been incorporated with the dance… ppl seemed to enjoy the typical r&B and hiphop stuff more then old school oldies.
god, madeleine’s so good
haha
you guys are cool
oldschool R&B was created to be dance music. it’s the music they used to play at school dances. personally, i am not a fan of being humped by/ humping my dance partner to tuneless music and mundane beats. true, some of the beats are cool, but I just don’t understand how it’s so much more enjoyable to dance to over real dance music. and what happened to live music and live bands? i just think people should learn more about music and be more open to different kinds of music. the rest of us have to listen to new R&B (although I hate to call it that, because it’s not really R&B), hip hop, and rap at every dance. not everyone likes that music!!! and only really skilled hip hop dancers can dance to it. everyone else just looks stupid. i’m glad they had an “oldies” dance. it was about time for a change.
dude…it’s the year 2007. most kids arent interested in oldies. we shouldnt make a whole dance focus on the interests of only a small group of kids
man these girls can sing.
