The Albany High School Leadership Class announced that this year for the first time the school will be participating in the new Pocketful of Wishes program as the student body’s community service project.
Since the Greater Bay Area Make-Wish-Wish Foundation’s founding in 1984, this chapter has fufilled nearly 5000 wishes for children with life threatening illnesses throughout their 17-county region.
Through Pocketful of Wishes, students will participate in a quarter drive fundraising intiative. Albany high school students will have the opportunity to share in the power of making a wish come true for even more local Wish Children. Students will experience how the value of each dollar they raise can fund elements of a wish or an entire wish.
The drive will formally begin on Wednesday, March 18th after video clip about Make A Wish is shown to the whole school during advisory. After the clip has ended, leadership students will visit each room with the coin boxes for those who want to donate. The fund will be offering prizes or other incentives.
There are coin boxes already located in the three offices and the library.
So bring in your coins now! Every coin counts! Bring in your spare change from home. Ask family and friends! Don’t miss out! Listen to the bulletin for more info!
