Lipsync 09′ – Homecoming

Lipsync this year was by far the best we’ve ever seen. After a week of class rivalries and competition, the students came together Friday in a sea of red and white.

The freshmen definitely showed the upperclassmen they were not to be forgotten in a stunning performance. The “12 Coming Through” pink bus and rapping girls made it a memorable start to the lipsync competition. The crowd went crazy when the freshmen played Lil Wayne’s smash hit “A Milli” together with their own “Lil Wayne” representing their class spirit. Despite having half-eaten apples aimed at the performers, they kept cool and showed that nothing was going to hold them back.

Even though it was their first lipsync, the sophomores performed just as well as the upperclassmen.  Highlights include a “Barbie Girl” complete with a Ken and throwing green paper money up in the air for everyone to see.

The juniors came back with another great performance, ending a very successful week for them. Although they couldn’t beat the reigning seniors, they showed that they were a force to be contended with. Girls showed up in their orange shirts as “Jabbawockeez” from Americas Best Dance Crew performing to “Pretty Young Thing” by the one and only Michael Jackson.

As the tradition goes, seniors took first place again in the competition. Their eye-popping performance made it highly memorable for all to see. Every moment of the ’09 performance was unforgettable. Flying paper airplanes from the crowd and Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” with senior boys in lacey lingerie made it especially fun to watch. No one could beat the seniors in this competition.

Overall, all of the hard work students put into making this the best lipsync ever showed during the last day of Homecoming week. Let’s hope next year’s lipsync will live up to this one.
