Lady Cougars Roll

Three games into the season, the Lady Cougars soccer team has given Bay Shore Athletic League teams an expected thrashing, coming off triumphant wins against St. Joseph Notre Dame (8-1), Kennedy (9-0), and Encinal (3-1).

As expected, senior captain Jessica Quinn has been leading the charge, scoring goal after goal to earn the team tops.

“It’s been expected that the returning players would be dominant,” Quinn commented, “but the contribution from the underclassmen thus far has just been astounding.”

Underclassmen playing big roles in the team’s success to date have been freshmen Jo Kirkby and Mallory Wolfe and sophomores Clara Mcleod and Krystal Swan, the team’s only keeper.

The Lady Cougars will be on the road tomorrow against Salesian as a final tune-up for a home game against St. Mary’s, which is expected to be the team’s first real test of the season.

“We’re coming in hot so look out,” Quinn concluded.

The game will be at Cougar Field at 5:30 p.m. so come out and show your support.
