When I went to see Knocked Up, I wasn’t expecting it to be as funny or original as director Judd Apatow’s previous hit, The 40-Year-Old Virgin. It was. The movie consisted of practically the same actors from before, and they all gave hilarious performances.
Knocked Up is about a guy who lives with a bunch of his friends, goes out to a club one night, drinks a little too much, and ends up spending the night with a girl named Alison, (played by Katherine Heigl), who he met at the club. The rest of the movie is a funny and uncomfortable adventure over the nine months that follow.
The main actor, Seth Rogen, (“Cal” from The 40-Year-Old Virgin), played the same type of role that he did in his previous movie, a crude, humorous, and sarcastic stoner. His attitude throughout the whole movie made it great fun, as he was always getting himself into awkward situations or saying nasty comedic lines about everything.
Witty dialogue, great acting, and a simple but good plot makes this what is probably the best comedy that I’ve seen this year. I recommend it to anyone who appreciates good humor (such as that in The 40-Year-Old-Virgin), but just don’t see it with your mom.
