This morning (October 27, 2011), at 5:36 AM local time, an earthquake struck the San Francisco Bay Area along the Hayward Fault. Preliminary data shows the earthquake occurring at 37.873°N, 122.251°W – right along California Memorial Stadium – at a depth of 6 miles with a magnitude of 3.6.
Earthquakes have been more noticeable the past few weeks, especially on October 20 when the Bay Area was struck by four earthquakes in one day.

What’s up with all the Hayward fault line quakes? Is this a preview of what experts have said about the Hayward fault? They’ve said if/when a big 1 comes on the Hayward fault its going to be bad one. Does anyone know more about the Hayward fault and what would be affected if a “big 1″ happened? Where it would affect the most? Etc. I felt this 3.6 very strong way above the airport by skyline college across the Bay from the Hayward fault. Its a bit unsettling. I know it also is going to sound conspiracy theory, but there have been some so callled quakes that have actually been explosions in Colorado but you can’t get that information on any regular news. Colorado doesn’t typically have earthquakes and sudddenly they do? That’s what they’re saying, so how does one know anymore if its an earthquake or an explosion know one will admit to besides internet news stations? Just wondering.
Just wanted to add the 1st post said 5:40am and it was 6:40am? Wondering why the times posted is an hour off? Different time zone?
Wait a minute. Now I’m reading 7 minutes later a 4.7 hit Sacramento? That’s not the Hayward fault? What’s going on? Anyone explain?
Our website does not observe Daylight Savings Time so during this time of the year it seems as if things are published an hour off.
