Block A Schedule

General

1. Congratulations are in order for students in the Albany High School
Choir program. All three choirs competed at the CMEA Regional Choir
festival held at CSU Eastbay this past weekend. The newly formed Men’s
Choir and Women’s Choir received a rating of Superior, and the AHS
Chorale received a rating of Unanimous Superior! Great job to all of the
students.

2. BSAL Track & Field Champions, Talei Tagivakatini – Shot & Discus; Sam
Crowley — Discus; Keegan Richerson — 800 meters, All-League; Johanna
Jenkins — Shot & Discus; Courtney Collier — 100 hurdles; Kenley Lam —
High Jump & 4×100 relay; Scylore Miles, Lorenzo Morris & Charles Lewis
– 4×100 relay.

3.Congratulations to senior Camille Freusto and sophomore Emma Jackson!
They won research awards in March at the U C Berkeley Model U N
Conference—but the conference organizers failed to notify them until
this week!

4. Do you love school loop? Hate it? Express your views by writing an
article discussing its pros and cons. Submit articles to
ahspov@yahoo.com and let your voice be heard. Cash prize for winning
articles.

5. Today’s lunch menu: Lasagne, Kung Pao Chicken, Chicken Garden Salas,
Italian Chicken Wrap

6. I-M Softball today: Pannini’s vs Scrappers Supermonsters vs I heart

College/Career

1. The Maris Family Opportunity Scholarship, new this year, will award
$500 to a graduating senior who will attend a community college,
vocational school, or four year college or university. The criteria may
include financial need, commitment to community service,
extra-curricular activities, special talents, and unique personal goals.
Students who have faced challenges and students with average G.P.A.’s
are encouraged to apply. Applications are in the Counseling Office, and
are due May 22nd.
