Block B Schedule

General

1. There are a lot of fall athletes or athletes who turned in paperwork
early and are planning on trying out for basketball, soccer or wrestling
that have not turned in the new form, “Athletic Eligibility Check List”.
You cannot be cleared without this form. Please stop by the Main Office
and pick one up today. Return ASAP so you can be cleared.

2. Congratulations to Senior Elena Pan, women’s tennis, BSAL singles
champion. She defended her title and became 3 time champion, 3years in a
row. Good Luck @ NCS.

3. Seniors — Next week is the last chance for senior portraits.
Library, after school, Wed., 11/12, Thurs., 11/13 & Fri., 11/14. See Ms.
Chiarella with questions

4. Red Cross Club Bake Sale today, after school.

5. The Varsity Football Team plays St. Mary’s today under the lights at
Cougar Field, 5pm

6. I-M Co-ed indoor soccer – Team roster must be turned in by 2pm, Fri.,
11/14 to Mrs. Wanlin. Roster must include 3-4 males & 3-4 females. (No
more than 1 male/female JV or Var Soccer team player) Include team name
- one your mother would approve of and designate a captain.

7. Today’s menu: Pepperoni Pizza, Chef Salad, Deli Sandwiches & Chicken
Bacon Swiss

College/Career

1. Seniors! Wednesday, November 12th, Nana Ohkawa, a former AHS student
and current junior at Cal, will meet with interested seniors during
lunch. She’ll discuss college life in general, UC Berkeley, and the
college application. This is a great opportunity to get some tips and
information from a former AHS graduate. The location will be announced.

Clubs/Team Announcements

1. The Chess Theory move today is: Bishop to F4

2. RED CROSS – TODAY – LUNCH – RM. 302 – bring bake sale items

3. BUILDING W/BOOKS – TODAY – LUNCH – RM. 206 – new members welcome

4. WE ARE CHANGE – TODAY – LUNCH – RM. 217 – we will discuss club debates

5. Attention ladies interested in trying out for basketball this season:
Try-outs will begin on MONDAY, November 10th from 6pm to 9pm. Anyone
trying out for the team must be there on Monday. Seniors and returning
Varsity players do not have to show up until 7pm. Please turn in all
your paperwork to the main office ASAP. You will not be allowed to
try-out if you do not have all your forms turned in!

6. Urgent message for all boy’s trying out for JV or Varsity Soccer:
Meet today, beginning lunch, Rm.209. Also, try-outs will be: Monday &
Tuesday, 10am-1pm, Wednesday & Thursday, 6-8pm, Friday, 2:30-4pm, and
Sat., 10-1pm @ Cougar Field. Please bring cleats, running shoes, and
shin guards. All medical forms must be turned in with grades cleared in
order to try-out.

Faculty

1. Freshman Advisory Teachers- Members of Earth Team will be coming to
your advisories TODAY to make a short presentation on recycling on
campus. Thank you.
