Block B Schedule
General
1. Petitions to change class schedules for second semester are
available in the Main Office. All requests for changes to schedules,
including requests to drop a class, will be handled through the
petition process. Be aware that all classes are considered year-long,
and schedule changes will be extremely limited. Deadline is Monday,
1/12 @ end of the school day. Students who wish to make a change should
pick up a petition ASAP, as teacher, parent and in some cases the
principal’s signature will be required.
2. Juniors and Seniors: apply to be a Bank of America Student Leader
for an 8-wk paid summer internship with a local nonprofit and an
all-expense paid week in Washington, DC. For details, go to
www.bankofamerica.com/neistudentleaders. Deadline to apply: Feb. 20.
3. AHS Men’s Basketball vs. John Swett – Friday, home. JV: 5:30;
Varsity: 7:00 Go Cougars!
College/Career
1. Seniors and Senior Parents: Thurs., 1/29, 6:30 to 8:30pm in the AHS
Library will be Cash for College. Learn about and get help filling out
the FAFSA, required for Cal Grants and other college financial aid.
2. The Tau Beta Pi Pioneers in Engineering program robotics competition
is open to Bay Area high school students who want to learn more about
science and engineering. Student teams build a robot and compete in a
game. For more information, see Ms. Sumberg in the counseling office or
talk to your math or science teacher.
