Block B Schedule
General
1. The Winter Ball is Saturday, Jan. 31, 8-12 midnight in the AHS gym.
Tickets/invitations sold at lunch time only outside the bookroom window.
$25, please have exact change (this makes the line go faster) or check
payable to AHS. You MUST have your dance agreement form completed before
you can purchase your ticket. Picture ID is required to enter dance,
start looking for your student ID card NOW.
2. Student Productions present Madness on Madrona Drive! Tonight @ 7pm.
in the Little Theater, $5 students & $10 adults. Purchase tickets @ the
door.
3. BUDGET ISSUES @ AHS!! Student/Faculty/Parent Discussion – Monday,
February 2 at the AHS Library, 6:45pm – PTSA Meeting (what?s up at AHS!)
7:20 PM – BUDGET discussion Join AHS students, parents, faculty &
Principal Ted Barone & Marla Stephenson, AUSD Superintendent. HEAR THE
OPTIONS & VOICE YOUR CONCERNS ABOUT PROPOSED CUTS.
4. Today’s lunch menu: Deli Sandwiches, Chicken Bacon Swiss, Pepperoni &
Swiss, Chef Salas
5. Attention Seniors! Do you have group pictures of you and your friends
as kids? The yearbook is looking for childhood pictures of current
Seniors. Bring pictures to Room 214 during sixth period or drop them in
Ms. Chiarella’s box by the end of the week.
College/Career

2. A representative from the National Holistic Institute, one of the
largest and most respected massage therapy schools in the nation, will
meet with interested students in the Counseling Office today, 11:50am,
during lunch. All students welcome.
3. Lawrence Berkeley Lab offers a 7-week internship to high school
juniors giving you the opportunity to work with world class scientists
or engineers on projects related to the Lab’s research programs. You
must be 16 by June 17, available to work from June 17 through August 7,
2009 and will receive a stipend of $2,000. For more info and
application, go to http://csee.lbl.gov/hssrpp.html or see Ms. Sumberg in
the Counseling Office. Deadline to apply is Feb. 20.
Clubs/Team Announcements
1. RED CROSS – TODAY – LUNCH – RM. 302 – Mandatory
2. Baseball try-outs starts Monday, Feb. 2nd @ 3:45pm @ Cougar Field.
Make sure all medical release forms are turned in prior to Feb. 2nd
3. MATHLETES – TODAY – LUNCH – RM 312 – We will be discussing the
Robotics competition and AMC and BAMO. Come if you are interested in
participating.
