The Albany Varsity boy’s soccer team successfully maintained their position in first place on Wednesday after tying against Piedmont. The first half was mainly dominated by Piedmont, forcing Albany to constantly be on the defense. In the second half, however, the Cougars got more opportunities to score, all of which were foiled by the Highlanders. Overall, the majority of the game was spent in the center of the field. Senior Isaac Katten said it was an “uneventful experience” and was angry that he didn’t get to see Evan Schwartz play. Despite the disappointment from some loyal Albany fans, the Cougars did just enough to stay in first place. They have now won ten times, lost once, and tied twice.
