Cougars Even Football Record at 2-2 with 25-7 Win Over Swett

Last Friday senior running back Kyle Moore led the Albany Cougars to a 25-7 victory over the John Swett Indians, rushing for 161 yards and scoring two touchdowns.
The Cougar defense was also tough, forcing two Indian fumbles in the first quarter.  Albany converted one of these fumbles into a touchdown after just two offensive plays.
John Swett answered  Albany’s first score with its own touchdown, knotting the game at 7-7.
However, the Cougars quickly grabbed the lead again scoring twice within the last five minutes of the first half.  On the first of these scores, Moore bulled his way into the end zone on a short run for his second rushing touchdown.
The Cougars ended the half with a touchdown pass from senior quarterback Kyle Tannahill to senior received Sebastien Lefour.
“I think we deserved the win because we practiced hard all week,” said running back Moore.
“The offensive line stepped up and our defense did good.  I think it is looking bad for Piedmont on Thursday,” said Moore.
After a scoreless third quarter, the game remained 19-7.
In the fourth quarter Tannahill completed his second TD pass to junior Dom Pelesauma, resulting in the game’s final tally of 25-7.
The 2-2 Cougars square off against Piedmont (0-4) at their home on Thursday October 6 at 7:00.  The JV game is at 4:00 p.m.
