Capture the Flag survives, Finals Thursday

Sasha Yovanovich chases down Louisa SoAfter injury-ridden preliminary Capture the Flag games and a threat to cancel or replace this girls Homecoming event, the Albany High administration has decided to hold the event finals this Thursday. For the past few years, events surrounding Power Puff Football have intensified and class rivalries have become more extreme. This year, the administration decided to replace Powder Puff with Capture the Flag to prevent serious injuries.

Unfortunately this didn’t work out as well as they hoped. Sophomore Kylie Fisher sustained a broken nose, sophomore Shelby La Rosa sustained a black eye and senior Ellen Streit dislocated her finger all in the same game. The juniors beat the freshmen after a 1-1 tie game that was ultimately decided by how many people were in jail at the end of the game. The seniors won 2-0 over the sophomores despite the injuries.

After the threat of cancellation of yet another girls activity, the administration decided to keep Capture the Flag on Thursday with certain restrictions. The field is going to be bigger, there is going to be more supervision and the crowd is going to be roped off to prevent any injuries that might happen.
