On Thursday October 22nd, the juniors took on the seniors in the homecoming boys volleyball championships. The fans were divided into two sections; one side of the gym held the seniors, sophomores, and freshmen, and the other side was a sea of green-colored juniors. The energy of the fans was extraodinary, and the junior and senior fans battled to out-chant one another, and managed to drown out the pump-up music that was playing in the background.
During the first game, the juniors came out strong with incredible energy, and beat the seniors thanks to their key players, Jesse Schumacher, Justin Maxwell, and Arthur Seares, led by their coach, Sita Wong.
However, the seniors stepped it up and won the next game, with some fantastic plays including those by Connor Freeberg, Peeja Khorashadi, Mason Zupan, and Juliano Pereira. The seniors received a lot of encouragement from their coaches, Kelsey Karawanny, Emma Jackson, Stesha Marcon and Kate Pickering.
Wtih the match tied, the intensity of the fans picked up even more. Although the juniors put up a good fight, they could not compete with the intensity and skill of the seniors, who won the final match and bragging rights for the year.
