Apaches Slay Cougars…46-13

Last Friday, the Cougars faced the Vallejo Apaches. The Apaches dominated the whole game, starting in the first quarter, which lasted for more than one hour.

The Apaches were winning 46-13 before the game was called after three quarters due to the field lights, which automatically turn off at 8 p.m.

Vallejo ran the ball with ease against the Cougar’s defense, scoring on the game’s first play to take the quick lead.

Albany’s running back, senior Kyle Moore, answered with a 65-yard touchdown on Albany’s fourth play of the game, tying the score at 7-7.

The Apaches then took control of the game, running the next three touchdowns to add to their lead, opening a 27-7 advantage.

The Cougar’s quarterback, senior Kyle Tannahill, tried to reduce the damage by throwing a nine-yard touchdown pass to senior Alex Rynhoud, closing the lead to 27-13.

Vallejo’s star players, Khalin Smith (QB, S), Demauriee Nickerson (WB, OLB), and Marico Tillmon (WR, OLB) were the key contributors to the Apaches’ victory.

The Cougars will try to forget about the loathsome loss against the Vallejo Apaches, as they face the De Anza Dons at home on September 23rd, after this week’s bye.
