On Friday, February 17, the Albany High School wrestling team competed at John Swett High School for the Bay Shore Athletic League team title. The competition included John Swett, Berkeley, and long-time rivals St. Patrick/St. Vincent.
Returning champions on the varsity line-up and their 2010-2011 season weight class include: Jesse Chua (121), Elijah Sudduth (142), Daniel Larman (147), Rafael Menjivar (162), and Alex Malanche (173)

The momentum from their 1st place finish at the NCS Division II Dual Meet tournament along with their 9 individual BSAL champions propelled the Cougars over St. Patrick/St. Vincent, securing Albany’s 13th straight league title. This is the final year of BSAL competition as Albany will be joining a new league, TCAL, next year.
All 14 Albany Wrestlers who competed in the tournament on Friday qualified for and will compete at the North Coast Section individual tournament on Friday and Saturday, February 24 and 25.

Good luck Cougars, rack some points up at Northcoast.
