Albany swim team pushes towards BSAL championship
The AHS swim team is looking for victory this year, as the May 12 BSAL final approaches. The boys varsity and JV teams are undefeated in league meets, and the girls varsity team is currently 5-2, with JV girls 6-1. This year has been the swim team’s best since the squad debuted in the 2003-04 school year.
So far, the boys varsity A 400 Freestyle relay team of Alex Tran, Guyen Enkhbileg, Arick Chow and Julian Le is looking for an NCS berth with their time of 3:35.
Last week, the swim team went to San Lorenzo for a meet at Arroyo High. The varsity boys defeated Arroyo with a score of 94-75, and the JV boys 135-9. The varsity girls lost 72-85 and the JV girls lost 63-108. It looks like the Cougars are finally going to get the first place spot they’ve been hungry for since 2004. Go Cougars!
