On Saturday, May 12, the Albany High Swim Team went to Cunningham Pool in Vallejo for the annual Bay Shore Athletic League (BSAL) Championships. The boys’ teams were hungry for victory, and that’s what they got. The JV boys got first place and the varsity boys tied for first place with Piedmont; both teams had scores of 212 points.
The varsity boys’ A team for the 400 Freestyle Relay got an NCS recommendation time of 3:31. Even though the season’s over, they’re still continuing practices and are looking to represent Albany High at the NCS Championships.
“The meet was intense,” freshman Eugene Yang commented. “I owned at that meet.” Yang also mentioned that he’ll be ready for next year and will be swimming with the El Cerrito Gators over the summer in preparation for next year’s season.
This season has probably been the Cougars best, and members of the swim all look forward to next year.
