Albany’s very first dance recital

Seniors James Higgins and Zander Brown show off their movesThe performance will feature all students from the three Dance I classes, who will perform in separate groups. Each group will perform a different piece, ranging from Flamenco to Hip-hop. Impressively, each group has choreographed all the moves in its dance. Students often choose the music and costumes themselves, so expect to see a wide, diverse range of performances. The students have been working really hard to pull through with this project, coming in during advisory and even after school to practice their moves. “Some stay until 8:00 at night,” said Shibano. “They’ve been really working hard.”

The recital will be Friday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose room. The recital is not going to be that long (approximately an hour), so don’t worry about ruining your Friday night plans. Don’t worry about the ticket price either, because the show will be free.
